Brogeen Boy took a week off competing this week to have a mornings hunting. He behaved very well and jumped a dozen rails in all, often giving other horses leads.
He warmed up the day before, having a jump in the school with Hannah.
11th October 2015
Brogeen Boy teamed up with Eddie to compete in the 100cm Maxi Pairs at The Glebe today. The pair both jumped clear and finished fourth. The jumps were a little more testing than what Brogeen Boy had so far experienced and he took it all in his stride, jumping impeccably.
27th September 2015
We made the long journey to Fairoaks in Rogate, where Brogeen Boy competed in a teamchase with three others from the yard. A flawless round of jumping saw us finish 3rd out of 35 teams, just 2.5 seconds from the winning time.
Next weekend he gets a break before partnering up with Eddie again for the 100cm pairs event at The Glebe on the 11th October.
21st September 2015
This evening we made the decision to get Bury Parade and Loves Blind out of the field and into their stables two weeks earlier than planned. The weather wasn't being kind to them and the temperatures had dropped several degrees at night. Once they'd warmed up and dried out they were both much happier to be in.
21st September 2015
Yesterday we took Brogeen Boy to the Ashford Valley Tickham Hunter Trials at Bonfleur Cross Country Course along with Hannah's eventer/hunter Eddie.
They competed in the 90cm Intermediate Pairs and both jumped enthusiastically and accurately. Unfortunately Timmy's stop at the water put paid to our chances and brought us down from 1st to 5th.
13th September 2015
Today we took one of our racing club horses Brogeen Boy 'Timmy' to the Ashford Valley Tickham Hunt Ride at Doddington Place along with Hannah's eventer/hunter Eddie. Timmy has been in work since his purchase from the Ascot sales in July and this was his first proper outing before hunting in the forthcoming weeks. He behaved impeccably and jumped very well today. His fitness is building and we are looking forward to a good season with him!
14th July 2015
A successful trip to Brightwells Ascot Sales saw us come home with two exciting horses. Our first purchase was Brogeen Boy, who we thought looked promising as a four year old before being run at the inappropriate distance of two miles when raced under rules. He is still a maiden and will hopefully provide some regular entertainment for the Racing Club.
The second horse was Loves Blind who was secured for the price of £2,500. He is also a maiden and hopefully won't take too long to lose that status. He has been put out to grass immediately and will come back into work in October, with an aim of getting him ready to run at Charing in February.
24th May 2015
Third Degree had his last run in point to points today. After coming to us in March of this year he has run at four different meetings proving to not quite get the trip. He will now be re-schooled and tried as an eventer. We will keep you posted on his progress.
18th April 2015
A winner! Hannah recorded her first winner as a trainer, riding Ballybrack Dancer to victory at the Old Surrey, Burstow & West Kent's point-to-point at Penshurst. 'Bracken' was sent off the 7/4 favourite of eight runners in the Open Maiden and won quite comfortably. She will now start her summer holiday and will reappear for the second half of the 2016 season when we hope she can win her Restricted.
